8. The Sin of Achan (Joshua 7: 1)
Men sinned constantly. Sometimes God responded to sins severely or even fatally such as the sin committed by Achan who took some loot from Jericho and hid them. God not only let Israelites be defeated at Ai but also the death of 36 people because of what Achan had done. After being found out, Joshua ordered Israelites to stone Achan, his children and all their animals to death and burned the loots and their belongings too. Yet sometimes, God forgave the sins committed at a different circumstances or person, such as David. So, what's the rationale behind it? How could we avoid committing the fatal sins?
